Dr. Bob Jacobs has over 25 years experience working with children and parents as a teacher, coach, psychologist, mediator and lawyer. He is a registered Queensland clinical psychologist and is also registered with the Australian Attorney-General's Office as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (child-inclusive practice). Dr. Jacobs has done a good deal of clinical supervision, including working with masters' students at the University of the Sunshine Coast’s psychology clinic in Sippy Downs (Queensland) in 2009.
Dr. Jacobs was host of the award-winning government access cable television show "Parenting with Dr. Bob" in the United States in the late 1990's, and wrote a weekly parenting column for the Tampa (Florida) Tribune. In addition to a doctorate and masters degree in psychology, Dr. Jacobs has a J.D. degree (law), is a licensed lawyer in the United States and is admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales.
Dr. Jacobs worked with Youth Affairs Network of Queensland (YANQ) from 2002 through 2010 advocating for young people. He has conducted two state wide speaking tours and was a keynote speaker at the Queensland State Youth Conference in Mackay in 2003, and at the National Youth Conference in Melbourne in 2007. Dr. Jacobs was invited to speak to the Commonwealth Senate Committee on Mental Health in Canberra in 2005 .
Dr. Bob also raised two beautiful children as a single parent.
